Precious Metals Division - Santiago de Chuco
The Santiago de Chuco prospect is made up of the Cisne XXV and Elmer Moises XVII concessions, about 45 kilometres apart.
The Elmer Moises concession was examined. A GPS measurement shows the elevation to be about 3,500 m asl. An outcrop ridge, about a kilometre in length, exposes altered and brecciated Calipuy volcanics overlying Chimu Formation sandstone. The outcrop area appears geologically interesting and further investigation is warranted.
The type of work and the amount will depend on the results from the recent sampling. In any case, some prospecting and soil geochemical sampling should be done away from the known outcrop exposure. The concession is reported by Inca Gold to be underlain by Calipuy volcanics intruded by granodiorite and tonalite, with zones of hydrothermal alteration, mainly outside and north of the property.
