Precious Metals Division - Huaranchal
Huaranchal is made up of a group of 5 concessions totaling 3,037 hectares. It is located about 15 kilometres southwest of the Masma prospect, and lies between 3,200 and 4,200 m asl.
The geology is described by Inca Gold as Lower Cretaceous sediments (Chimu, Santa, Carhuaz and Farrat formations), overlain by Calipuy volcanics and intruded by Tertiary-age tonalitic granodiorite. Mineralization is said to be of epigenetic origin in arenaceous sediments of the Goyllar Group (between the Chimu and Farrat formations) near the contact with intrusives. Zones of argillic and silicic alteration are known.
